Whitby,England

I am feeling a bit lonesome for the little city by the sea, home of my patron saint Hilda. I haven't been in 6 years and that's way too long. I want to climb the 199 stairs to the top of the Abby Mount, gaze around at the sea and the tops of the town buildings. Walk across the bridge and stop into the little "chip shop" and get the best fish and chips ever. Fish caught the very day cooked. So tastey with lots of vinegar on the chips and some mushy peas on top. Will admit Imost often leave off the peas.

St Hilda established the dual monastery in the 600's. There was actually 2 monasteries, one for women and one for men. Caedmon, a farm hand was taught to read and write by St. Hilda and is known as the ather of sacred song in England.
This is Caedmon's Cross on the temple mount in Whitby. At the top is Christ, then David, Hilda and Caedmon at the bottom.

If I could hop a plane tomorrow, I would not hesitate in the least.

On a more sobering note, Whitby is also one of the places that Bram Stoker used an inspiration for his best seller "Count Dracula". All over towns are signs about Dracula.

True light and dark in the same are. Light on the top of the hill and dark in the valley of streets.
