He had suffered a massive stroke on the 19th. We brought him home on the 22nd to his Litte House on the Prairie. He had many visitors and visited as best he could with all of them.
One evening his two brothers and a sister were all there visiting. We got to talking geneology and none of us could remember who one person one. Dad had not talked a lot for a while, but he chimed in saying "That was Mama's sister". He actually seemed a little perturbed that we did not know.
We had 9 wonderful days. I was able to take leave from work which was a blessing in itself.
The Memorial Service will be Friday Jan 8. I can't imagine how difficult that will be.
This morning before going out to the house I stopped at the grocery store. To my suprise as I walked past the deli section tears filled my eyes. Dad went there every morning for coffee and a sausage biscuit. It caught me completely off guard.
