15 January 2011

It has been several months since posting anything on my blog. I've been busy working, posting of Facebook (an unfortunate waste of time actually), traveling around the mountain roads and doing some metal detecting along the way.
Seems every weekend since Aug I have been out in the woods somewhere. Sometimes just driving around, walking some trails, exploring a river bed, an old campsite or admiring a new bridge.
We had a spell of cold weather the beginning of the year. Waterfalls turned to icefalls all over. Amazing ice formations along streams and under bridges where logs have landed since the flood just before Christmas.
I have found some fun tresures. Pieces of the bridge over the river to my childhood home. The bridge was built in 1933 and a new one opened in 2008. Been fun walking under the new one and finding bits and pieces. I have found some interesting bottles and a very adorable very rusty old child's toy truck or car. It's hard to tell exactly which.
The following is from New Years Day 2011. It was an absolutely beautiful day. Cold and clear blue sky with bright golden sun. A perfect day for exploring.
