While the Protestand churches are celebrating Easter tomorrow April 11, the Eastern Orthodox church celebrates Palm Sunday. Easter or Pascha is next Sunday. During the Paschal season a prayer is said in most services, the Prayer of St. Ephriam. If all of us would sincerely pray this prayer we would certainly be better for having done so.
Prayer of Saint Ephraim
O Lord and Master of my life,
Grant not unto me a spirit of idleness,of discouragement,of lust for power, and of vain speaking.
O Lord and Master of my life,
Grant not unto me a spirit of idleness,of discouragement,of lust for power, and of vain speaking.
But bestow upon me, Thy servant, the spirit of chastity,of meekness,of patience, and of love.
Yea, O Lord and King, grant that I may perceive my own transgressions, and judge not my brother, for blessed art Thou unto ages of ages. Amen.
For those of you who celebrate Easter tomorrow, God bless and have a wonderful day worshipping our Risen Lord.
Christ is Risen, Glorify Him!!
