Spent the day at Deception Pass. Been many a year since I was there last. It's such a beautiful place. These gulls were ever watching the folks fishing for hering. Quantity control duty.
I had no idea crabs actually molt their old shells. That's what was happening here. At first I though it was 2 crabs then realized it was on shedding a too small shell. Fascinating.
These were absolutely disgusting looking. They were hanging from a rock completely covered with huge barnacles. I don't know if they were part of them or if they were something I couldn't see. But they were so gross looking, but amazing.

The famous Deception Pass bridge taken from the North Beach are, a giant meccano set.
This is taken from a trail from the bridge down to the North beach. It was such a beautiful day.
That's quite a trail, coming back up especially. I went down and realized there is a parking lot much closer to the beach. But what exercise.

Problem was I splatted on the rocks. Oh my goodness what a sight I'm sure. No one was near me but a boat was going by. Perhaps they were too busy baiting their hooks to see a clumsy ole' lady sprawl out. I bunged up my knee and I think I need a complete body massage now. I fortunately had left North beach and was at West beach. I would have never made it up the trail on a bum leg. I said a little four letter work beginning with "s" and then laughed. What an idiot. However, it sure hurt. Tonight my body is feeling a bit like the old "got run over by a Mack" truck feeling. My knee is definetly not right. Swollen and can't bend. Oh well, all in a day's fun.

I'll see what tomorrow brings. I've been icing it. I won't be going anywhere tomorrow. Had planned to do some outdoor work around her tomorrow afternoon. Reckon that's out.
